“Stick it through, it’s not that hard to make change.” - Former Student
Your Investment at Work
People who invest in the Life’s Kitchen program do so for many reasons; some are quite personal while others are simply doing so because it is the correct thing to do.Regardless of why a person invests, at Life’s Kitchen we want your investment to count and we want it to be meaningful to you. That is why we want to celebrate you!
The 128 Club
Time talent and treasure are limited to one’s own imagination and one’s own ability.Life’s Kitchen is based in a building complex that also houses an apartment building.Jimmy, one of the residents, is often seen by Life’s Kitchen Staff walking and cleaning the grounds and generally doing his part to keep the apartment complex clean.Over the years Jimmy has become a fixture of the Life’s Kitchen landscape because several times a month, he brings gifts of stuffed animals for us to give to children. He also has told staff that if we were to bring broken bicycles of our students or staff he would fix them for free. The tall older man that comes to Life’s Kitchen for visits is also very protective of the staff by coming in to visit and to check in on us.Helping fix vehicles or anything else that is in a state of disrepair, Jimmy does what he can, when he can and how he can. What do Jimmy, Life’s Kitchen and the 128 Club have in common? We are all here to help our students become successful and be the best people they can be.
If you are interested in making an investment to the Life’s Kitchen program, there are many ways to help and we hope there is one thing that you find interesting enough about our work to consider being a part of the Life’s Kitchen family!
Volunteers always needed
Of course we always need volunteers to help us with special events, deliveries, and special projects. Just a little of your time can make such a difference in the lives of our students. Call today to get involved with Life's Kitchen! 331-0199.
We need your support
As you can imagine, supporting the ongoing efforts of Life's Kitchen takes time and money. We rely on donations from the community to provide critical services and outside-the-kitchen support our students need to create success for themselves. For example, $1,500 sponsors a student for their entire 16-week training program; and by donating less than 5 hours of your time a month you can be a year-long mentor to a Life's Kitchen student. And Life's Kitchen is always in need of donated food, in-kind goods or professional services.
Sponsor the training program for one student. ($1,500)
Provide a student's food for an entire semester ($250)
Give a student a graduation knife set and chef coat ($125)
Donate in-kind goods or services to Life's Kitchen
Coach students through the job interview process
Teach a life skills class to students
Hire Life's Kitchen catering for your next company or private event
Volunteer in our Lunch Cafe
